KITE: In Practice
~
KITE was created to support leaders and leadership teams in the humanitarian and development space. Its practice is deeply grounded in a large body of scholarship on teams and organizational effectiveness. This knowledge is now seeing growing interest in application in the development and philanthropic sectors.
~
For @hot.osm (HOT — The Humanitarian OpenStreetMapTeam), this means taking serious consideration of how leadership teams actually work. If the people you send to do the job are not equipped at a world-class level, it will be nearly impossible for leadership teams to deal with world-class problems. In the humanitarian arena, you would be hard pressed to imagine a problem around which an organization is formed doing its best work. That matters because real lives and well-being are at stake. KITE deals at this infrastructural level to ensure high-performing and sustainable leadership teams.
~
HOT Executive Director, Tyler Radford: “We’re here in service of the entire #humanitarian community, and as we grow we recognize that our leadership team needs to be operating at peak effectiveness for us to be of service.”
