KITE specializes in a process we refer to as “team design”. At its core, the team design process invites the team to grapple with four essential questions:

1) Are you a real team? Do you need to become one?
2) If so, what purpose calls this specific team into existence?
3) Does your team have the necessary blend of diversity and skill to achieve this compelling purpose?
4) What norms will honor your values and guide your collaboration?

We firmly believe that alignment on a team’s design is the single most powerful predictor of team effectiveness.

Over the past 3 years, KITE has been relentlessly focused on supporting organizations to elevate their practice of team design and development. The experience and insight we have acquired is vast. But make no mistake. We are still learning. We are constantly challenged with designing and redesigning our own internal alliance and collaboration, re-examining our assumptions, and refining our norms. We have no choice but to walk the very same path that we accompany our clients on, and the path has never been easy.

As part of our own team design process, we defined four core values. Over the coming weeks, we will share how KITE is trying to honor each of them, in our work and within our own system. We hope it will be of service.
